Post by: AthenasMom on September 22, 2012, 10:22:55 am
Has anyone had successful Lasik surgery after AN surgery?  I am concerned that since my right eye does not close all the way even with the gold weight that I may have trouble having Lasik surgery but I hate weariang glasses!!!  Has anyone had experience either way???

I'd be concerned about  having even more difficulty with dry eye.  What do your doctors recommend?

I underwent cataract surgery a year after my AN surgery/radiation but I did not have any eye issues following my AN surgery so that may not be relevant.

I believe this question would be best answered by an ophthalmologist.

The opthalmologist says it "can" be done but just wondered if anyone had had it done.  I have learned that the doctors don't always tell you everything!

Do you have dry eye after AN treatment?  If so, I think I'd ask if the surgery will make this worse.

I looked into it at one time but because I lost my balance and hearing on one side, the doctors there would not perform the surgery incase something went wrong.
