Title: 6 mo post op MRI done....now waiting for results
Post by: mindyandy on August 28, 2012, 05:41:05 am: Hi guys. I had my 6 mo post op MRI yesterday. 6 mo already???? CRAZY huh? Well it will take a few days for Dr. Friedman to get the results. Once I know then I will post them. Remember my situation is different. I do still have my AN but it should be smaller than pre op. This is because I had surgery to take as much off my trigeminal nerve to take the pain away & Dr. Schwartz said my AN has not grown since my CK done back in 2008. Since my hearing was perfect he didn't want to risk me losing it. My hearing is still perfect so I am thankful. I do still have some facial twitching but he said that is not hurting anything so I learn to deal with it.

Dr. Friedman phoned me this morning. From the report he got stable/slight shrinkage from my last MRI scan Nov 2011. He said good news and let repeat in a year ;D
I asked what the measurements were and the report did not say. He said if I sent him a copy of my scan he will measure for me. I have to say Dr. Friedman & Schwartz are hands down wonderful.

That's great news! And it's crazy that six months has already gone by. That was fast. I haven't been on here much, so this was the first post I've read in a while. Glad to hear your report. I have two months to go before my MRI. I'm sure that time will approach very quickly. I'm finally returning to normal except for some taste issues. In fact, I just returned from a really fun four days in Yosemite. I even did the hike up Half Dome with no problem. That was great!

Well, I'm off to work. Congratulations on your recent report :)

I can say that I feel good except a few minor issues such as facial flutters/twitching, slight numbness off and on(had major numbness post op)same spots, and tingling/painfree zaps in my lip. I'm guessing my trigeminal nerve is still trying to mend. As long as the pain TN pain is gone its all good ;D
