Title: 1 year anniversary of surgery
Post by: rvb755 on August 27, 2012, 06:51:13 pm
This past Friday was the 1 year anniversary of my Translab surgery to remove my AN.  I've been meaning to post an update and haven't found time until now.  I continue to have a very smooth recovery all things considered.  The numbness in the AN side of my head is much improved over what it was immediately after surgery.  Probably 80-90% of being back to normal.  The tinnitus in my ear has not changed and I am still frustrated at times with the SSD.  The thing I am happiest about is my balance is no worse than prior to surgery.  I have been riding bike to work this summer, and have ridden more than 700 miles on my bike this season.  I had an MRI at 6 months that was clean, so no 1 year MRI required - I will have another at 18 months post surgery.  I am not on the forum as much anymore but do check in occasionally and am still extremely grateful for the wealth of information and all the caring, helpful people here.

Thanks for sharing your positive update!  It's helpful to hear that life is good one year later.  :)

Hi, Rick ~

Congratulations on the MRI results - and thanks for checking in.  May your recovery continue at this brisk pace.
