Anyone gotten the vaccine ? Noticed on the FDA site it said, "Zostavax is a live vaccine and should not be given to individuals who have a weakened immune system caused by treatments that they are taking such as radiation, a class of drugs called corticosteroids, or .................... "

Talk to your doctor. I had the vaccine 2 years ago, 6 months after my surgery, and there were no complications, but my immune system was not compromised.

Received that vaccine a couple of years ago -- about two years post-AN surgery -- and had no problems.

Had mine in Fall, 2007 ..... three months before I was diagnosed with an AN ..... hmmmmmmm???
No reason whatsoever to connect the two, however.

I had shingles the month after I was diagnosed with the AN, and a month before CK. I didn't even know there WAS a vaccine for shingles. Will have to learn more about this . . .

I was vaccinated last year with no problem.
I'm a little over 5 years post op.
As James suggested, you should ask your doctor.

Went for my yearly physical (no co-pay now, thank you Obamacare) and the doc suggested the shingles vaccine. I bit and had it with no aftereffects. So now I am protected, if they only had an anti-AN vaccine.
