Hi too all,
I haven't been on here in awhile. MRI scheduled tomorrow and guess I'm a little nervous. Audiogram showed stable AN side with threshold averaging 40dB, but I had a slight decrease in the good ear now around 25 but more than happy with the results. I can't help but still wonder about cell and cordless phones because since being diagnosed, I never use a phone of any kind on the AN side. Tinnitus is a little worse but for the most part I can ignore it. Mild balance problems resolved within a year post CK. Within the past 2 months, I've noticed the tip of my tongue is red and it got numb. It's resolving so who knows. The doc didn't seem concerned last week. I've been under a lot of stress due to family illness out of state and had to quit my job for the time being to manage it all. I am thankful for my loving husband who has been so supportive through all of this. And life goes on.....
Will update when I get the MRI report back.
Take care,
Sandra

You've been missed, m'dear!!!!!!!
I'm now past the 6 yr post CK and every now and then....... something funky/weird crops up.... and, for me, I let it ride. At this stage of the game, unless the "brain booger" is growing, you should be like me.... deemed a "done deal". Keeping fingers crossed that is the case. I'm sorry to hear of other stresses going on and... never rule it out.... the stresses may be factors as well, but hey, you know me... I only play "Dr Phyl" on tv :)
Pls keep us updated re: the MRI... and hon, great to see you! :)

Hi, Sandra ~
Good to see your post again but sorry that you're getting apprehensive about the upcoming MRI. However, those pre-MRI jitters are perfectly normal.
I'm a skeptic regarding cell phones being the cause of ANs but then, I could just as well be wrong about that. Maybe, some day, we'll find out.
We'll be thinking of you today as you await the results of your MRI scan.

Got the MRI report back and all the doc basically said was it's smaller but gave no dimensions. I'm thankful it's smaller but plan to contact the radiologist for a better interpretation. Using the measuring tool, from what I could tell the largest dimesion was 8.2 mm. Phyll, I'm with you on this one. The little alien is dead for now at least, may it RIP. I may check it again in 2 years but will just see how it goes. Jim, you are so right about pre-MRI jitters. I was actually surprised at myself for being that apprehensive. With all the other stressors going on right now, there was just way too much riding on the report being good. I can breath much easier now. Thank you both for all your support through all the craziness. I would have been so lost without this forum.

Well this nurse just couldn't help herself. I called the doc and asked for a more thorough interpretation of the MRI. The doc's office said the radiologists had started doing that...being more general when describing their findings. Sounds a bit lazy to me. Will let you know when I get the updated report.
