Well kids, it's that time. I am to arrive at UVA at 530 in the morning (5/24) and surgery commences at 730 but will probably be 8. It's going to be bittersweet though, I was hoping that I could have the BAHA preceedure along with the removal of Alexander (Graham Bell, named for Bell- not for inventing the telephone but of his in-depth research for hearing and speech).
Thank you to all who have given advice about the (translab) surgery, BAHA as well as insurance issues. This forum is incredible from the information offered to the supportive members. A big hug goes out to Manders, who just had her surgery. Her experience and pics on her blog were a tremendous help.
See you guys on the other side!!
