Title: Hearing aid battery cost and performance
Post by: spgreenfield on May 18, 2012, 02:31:33 pm
I have my appt in a week to try my Phonak Cros - and I'm wanting to price out the batteries for it.  It takes a size 312 - and apparently there are many brands/styles/levels to choose from.  Looking online to see if I can purchase in quantity to avoid huge battery costs.....any experiences with the shorter or longer life batteries?

Check Amazon. I have a BAHA 3 and I get 60 Power One batteries for around $16.00.

I think Power One batteries are best.  Only problem is the size, 312, which is not a long life battery.  I only get 2 days out of each one, using them 16 hours a day.

I, also, think the Power One batteries are the best.  My Oticon Medical Ponto Pro uses a size 13.  I paid $18.17 to Amazon last September for 60 Power One Size 13 Zinc Air Hearing Aid Batteries, which will last over a year.  (Mine last over a week each and I wear my Ponto 11-12 hours per day.)

Tried Power One batteries in my BAHA.  Didn't see any difference in performance compared to Duracell batteries - that I typically buy cheaper from Walmart.

My BAHA uses size 13 (orange) and I typically get 10 days to 2 weeks from one battery.

I would compare prices between Walmart and Amazon. Sometimes Amazon wins because there is no tax and sometimes no shipping.

Good suggestion, will check into that.

Have to note though, that there are usually decent coupons ($1 off or more) in the Sunday paper - and Walmart takes them; I don't think Amazon will.
