Have any of you had air travel recently after your GK? I had to call my dr's office to reschedule my first MRI 2 months after my initial GK procedure. When I told them I was travelling, the nurse said he will talk to my doctor to see if I should get steroids to assist with my travel? Is my head going to swell up with the pressure and explode or something? :D Anyway, was wondering if any of you have had this situation. Thank you in advanced.

Hubby had CK and three weeks later was on a plane from Massachusetts to Florida with no problems. Everyone is different - will be interested to see what your doctor says.

I had CK, and the next day I flew 30 hours back home from Germany to England and Australia... One day Australia will have a CK machine! There was no problems with flying and CK

I have flown many times after gamma knife. I don't notice anything different from before, and I've been from the west coast to Chile and Europe, both long flights, plus some short ones.

I didn't have any issues at all, felt great... thank God. I am going to be flying a lot due to my job role changing.

Glad to hear all went well with your flying -
Keep up the good reports,

On my recent visit with a brilliant Radiation Oncologist, it was explained to me that by going with the lowest one time dose of 12.5 grays in SRS (or GK) vs. 50.4 grays in FSR over 28 treatments, you get the same effect of tumor control and preserve good hearing if the tumor is small.
No brainer, I'm going with SRS, 12.5 grays one time dose and it will be OVER!!!
Another point to remember, over 28 treatments you are getting more radiation....no matter how you look at it.
