Hi All,
If you are a House patient and had middle fossa surgery, how long was the surgery? Who were your doctors?
Happy Friday!!

My drs were Slattery and Schwartz (in May 2007) and surgery lasted around 5 hrs.

Thanks for the response. I was beginning to wonder if there was anyone out there. Forum has been quiet. Must be the nice weather.

I know I have read many great things about HEI but the types of surgery vary in reading I would feel comfortable with any one of the surgeries as long as it is with these group of doctors. There are others out there as well but to me this seems the best place to go and worth traveling for a great outcome.
Best Wishes,

Hey, Lisa...had translab, not middle fossa, but mine was about 4ish hours...seems to be sort of the "norm" for House surgeries from what I recall from others here over the years...depending, of course ;)

Hi Irobie;
I believe HEI Drs get in and out as fast as safely possible. They're considerbly well experienced ( over 8,000 successful AN removals ) and developed both the Translab and MCF approaches.
I do know a person who had a 6 hour MCF by Dr. Braackman.

What is MCF? I had Retro and mine was 6 hours long. I don't remember a thing ;D

I think it's middle cranial fossa.

I had middle fossa last December at HEI and my Dr.s were Wilkinson and Schwartz. Both were great! I believe my surgery was 4.5 hrs.

Hello there!! So I had my Middle Fossa surgery about 2 1/2 years ago....Drs Brackmann and Schwartz did the surgery. Mine was a little over six hours...as you probably know by now, it just depends on a number of factors on how long it takes. Size, location, stickyness, etc.
