I haven't posted in a while, so for those who don't remember me... I had AN surgery in November 2008 and they had to cut and graft my facial nerve. Easter 2009, after seeing family pics I hid in the bathroom and cried. After 2.5 years of accupuncture and healing, here is me now. Not quite this ;D but I really can't complain.

I am so happy for you. Many of us in the group truly can empathize. I have been dealing with facial nerve weakness since my surgery and have cringed at the few pictures I have seen of myself. Our family's Easter pics this year are kids-only for that reason.
I am glad you are doing better.

Thank you for sharing the wonderful photo. You look fabulous. It is nice to get a chance to see the face behind the posts. My husband's facial nerve was damaged during his surgery in 2009. The improvement over the past 2+years has been noticeable. Not quite what it was, but getting closer.

Very pretty picture! It is nice to see that you have progressed so nicely in the 2 1/2 yrs since surgery.. I just had same thing in Oct. 2011 and am dealing with the facial issues.. so I am encouraged! I have not begun any "treatment" yet,, just healing and have seen some improvement.. but still don't like seeing self or being in pics.. that will come I guess with more healing.. thanks again for such a sweet pic.. kids are adorable too! Thank you all for the kind words. I was hoping to provide some encouragement to those who are dealing with this. It DOES get better, not only your appearance, but your acceptance of it...and you figure out how to pose to hide your flaws. LOL

You look marvelous! I had partial facial paralysis from Bells Palsy in the 90's, remember my uncle said I looked like a monstor. I too did acupuncture and it has improved, still can't smile on the right side. Enjoy those beautiful children, I miss my little ones but have a granddaughter I spoil.
