Hi All,
Just sharing real quick:
I am getting my hearing device (Ponto) tomorrow. I had the surgery at the end of December to implant the titanium screw and have gone the appropriate 3-month time period that one must do to wait for the screw to become "one with the bone". So now, I'm ready. Very excited to hear better and to be able to locate sounds. Especially my cell phone when it rings! ;D Will follow up with how it is working
Be Well,

congratulations on your "Gotcha Day" ;D
It's probably a day you'll remember the rest of your life. I got my processor (Divino, since upgraded to a BP100) over 4 years ago and I still recall how wonderful it was to hear what I'd been missing post op.
You made a wise choice with the BAHA. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine!
Best,

Hey Shannon ....
Congrats on being able to use your processor tomorrow. When my audiologist first put it on, I was a bit disappointed because we were in her office and it was quiet and no one was talking and I could not tell any difference. Then she told my husband (who was on my deaf side) to say something and WOW, I could hear/understand him without turning around to face him! She explained the goal is to not know you are wearing it, but to now have sound input from the deaf side seem natural.
I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do. I put my Ponto Pro on every day after my shower, basically forget about it and leave it on until I go to bed at night.
