I just thought I would share what I came upon today. I wasn't sure what my audiogram meant, but knew that my speech discrimination was at 64% now. When the neurosurgeon said that not using the phone in the AN ear was a sign that I had no serviceable hearing, I assumed he was right. Although, I wondered because I can still hear most words but was getting tired of asking people to repeat themselves so I started using the other ear. Today, I came across the Gardner-Robertson Class Parameters. I am still in the Class 2 - Serviceable hearing!! My pure tone average is 40 dBs and speech discrimnation 64%. I'm not sure if this is a reason to celebrate, but it did make me feel a whole lot better. I think it will also give me the push I need to make my decision on treatment.
Happy Valentine's Day! :-*
