I have been away from the forum, kind of away from a lot of things. My husband and I have been hospicing my brother who was diagnosed with lung cancer in September. The cancer went through him very quickly and he lost his battle on Jan 2nd. We were able to keep him here with us, his bed was in front of the slider overlooking his beloved river, he was peaceful. I am proud of the amazing job we did caring for him and proud of his strength and bravery, what a journey.

Welcome back, I'm sorry for your loss. I am also very impressed with your willingness to help your brother through hospice. I think that is wonderful thing to do, although I know how very hard it can be.
Blessings to you and your husband,

My condolences on the loss of your brother and my admiration for the way you and your husband took responsibility for making your brother's last days comfortable and relatively serene.
I believe that, if nothing else, these kinds of trying experiences tend to help us gain a better perspective on our own lives.

I'm sorry for your loss. I live on a river myself so I'm sure it meant a lot to your brother to be there. My computer is right by the sliding door so I can sit and watch it go by while I'm home.

Rivergirl,
So very sorry for the loss of your brother. It takes very special people to open their home as the final resting place for a loved one! May the memories of your brother be of the happy times that you shared, and know that you have a special place in the hearts of many!
Praying for your peace,
Jackie

May he be at peace now... and may your heart be at peace, knowing you helped to bring the comfort his body and soul was seeking. Healing hugglez to you during this difficult time. :-*
