Hi all,
I tried to go off Klonopin today to see if my treatments were working. Now I know what they mean by addicted. My body went totally into shock, dizziness way worse than before....what a dummy! I'm stickin' to my drugs!

Nan,
Klonipin is not a drug to get off easily. My husband took almost a year before he stopped feeling the effects of that drug. He also has daily headaches. And I'm the one that had the AN!

Some of us dont always understand how far we have come
- or what was required to get us here.
You are on those drugs for a reason - discuss the end of them
with your Doc, the when, and the how.
Best Regards

Yikes, talkin' about drugs, the Headache Wizard put me on Neurontin--600mgs 3x a day. I tolerate the night-time dose alright as I'm actually ASLEEP, but the AM dose I take at about 8:00 AM makes me drag around like a zombie till around noon, the WHOOPS it's time for the next dose at around 2:00 which, for the last 3 days has put me out like a LIGHT till dinner. I sure hope these are side effects that go away, because this stuff has totally depleted my energy supply and made me into a total SLUG!

Thanks, Jean. Yikes. I was so grateful for this drug, but a year to get off it?! My doc did say I should taper off by decreasing to half pill twice/day. I'm not near ready.
Jean, did your husband have any side effects, like pressure in the head? Can't tell if it's related to the dizziness.
You're right, Tony. And thanks for your comments related to balance. My balance is off in the ways I'd expect, just the dizziness is a mystery. My surgeon is sick of hearing about it...if they only knew what we go through.
Capn, side effects suck. No headaches but you can't function...damn. I hope you acclimate soon.
hugs to all,

Nan,
I don't believe my husband had any pressure in his head. He had a "fuzzy" feeling, kind of like he wasn't able to focus on tasks real well. He did decrease the amount he took as he went off of it. The doctor gave it to him for anxiety without telling him much about the drug. Most of the problems went away after about 3 months or so. I think he's tried most of the anti-depressants.
