According to Kathleens care pages and a phone call from Brian...Kathleen is done with surgery. Tumor was sticky and they feel confident they got it all out. She was in for about 8 hours and a few hours in recovery. EMG shows facial movement but it's still too soon to tell. She's in ICU. Phyllis said she had some trouble with the anthesia :(
Hoping tomorrow she's doing well and can start putting this behind her!

Yep, Nan here. Think it was about 7 hours in surgery, 2 in recovery, doc said all went well.
Whew! Another Brave ANer!

UPDATE:
Ok, she got moved to a private room today from ICU. they did try to get her up and about a little bit today. She's having a difficult time with dizziness/vertigo, but hanging tough. She is able to open/close her eye but a bit dry... eye drops (minimal) in use. Facial feeling is occuring. She's also having some body temp issues (ie: hot flashes and such). All in all, she sounds on track for wellness and will get another update on her tomorrow (Friday). I'm hoping to call her this weekend if she is up for it... will see what the next update brings. I send along all of our love and continued support and prayers.... so far, our "mom" is doing fine. So far, so good!

Beau called Phyl and said they are talking about discharging her tomorrow ??? Too soon!
She is up a little bit, was eating today and able to feed herself. (ok, so I had trouble cutting my own food for a while! ;D )
Sounded like she was doing very good...still some paralysis, still has pressure bandage, didn't want to talk on the phone and is very tired. But sounds like things are still good!
-
Nan here. Pearly will probably post too.
She's up and walking on her own (not far, I think), still having a lot of nausea but is eating food on her own, doing PT for eye, still very tired.
They're talking about releasing her tomorrow, Sat, which seems early, want to remove bandage on Sunday.
I'll be talking with her guy tomorrow to see if she's up for visitors, but if she's going home soon, may not happen.
She's coming along...

I hope they decide to keep her longer, sounds too early to be released.ÂÂ

She went home yesterday (Sat). Very quick. The doc is having them remove the bandages at home today. I told them to look for swelling behind the ear...I had that.
She made it up the stairs, very tired, kept eyes closed on the hour ride home. She had to wait 4 hours for discharge due to med mixup.
Still not wanting calls or visitors yet, but dizziness/nausea seems to be getting better all the time.

Wow!
I was in 2 weeks for the shunt surgery and 3 weeks for the tumor. Must be the insurance company at work.......scary.

Hugs to everybody. I agree, seems like they shoved her out the door--my docs were so careful, but I had head-wrapping issues --so THAT's WHY I'M STILL SO D***ED DIZZY--hahahahha! I actually have a scar where they wrapped the bandage on my forehead. Think they'll fix it for FREE??? When I'm better, you bet I'll be asking.
Paul, when did you have your surgery? A mother of a tumor, and you're doing so well. I'm on a hamster wheel of trying alternative treatments. But Mother Pearl--hee hee, my humor is out of control today, is encouraging me to slow down.
Jist waiting for the miracle to come...quoting Leonard Cohen, for anybody who can remember him.
Our love to Gennysmom.
