Title: Measurement of AN
Post by: jugee on May 18, 2011, 07:16:19 pm
Can anyone tell me what the initials AP  and CC stand for when the radiologist gives you the dimensnion?
For example the report shows 9 mm CC X 9mm AP X 13 mm.
Thanks, Gary

it stands for the views, and someone with a little more knowledge than me will be along shortly.

There are three angles used because it is a mass and they measure it in 3d ( three dimensions).

There is another recent thread on this: http://www.anausa.org/smf/index.php?topic=15329.0. CC is craniocaudal or coronal, meaning from top to bottom. AP is anterior-posterior, meaning from front to back. And TR is the transverse measurement, from side to side. Your report shows that the transverse measurement is 13 mm, this probably includes the portion coming from the internal auditory canal.

Gary,
Here's a diagram.  The dimension measurements would roughly correspond to measurements along the intersections of the planes in the diagram (like X, Y, Z directions).
