Title: STROKE DURING A N SURGERY
Post by: dragonlady1030 on May 17, 2011, 11:06:04 am
Has anyone ever experienced a stroke during radical AN surgery?  I had surgery in 1996 and found out in 2009 that I had a stroke during surgery.  My doctors never said anything about it.  In hindsight, I remember alot of concern about the strength in my right side, all the way to my feet!

Jerri-Lynn ~

As you know, strokes can occur during any surgery so this is not an issue specific to AN surgery, however it is a risk, albeit a slight one.

One of our 'hero' members, Kay ('Kaybo') suffered a stroke during her AN surgery, but this was approximately 25 years ago.  I've asked her to reply to this thread.

Hi and welcome,
I have also put out a word to Kaybo to have her respond when she can........ she did have a stroke during her AN surgery and if anyone can be insightful.... but most of all, inspirational, she's can most certanly do and be!  She's the go-to on this one.

Again, welcome,
Phyl

Hi dragonlady!
I'm here & would love to talk to you but am a little busy right now - we've just recently found out my mom has breast cancer & had surgery yesterday. I'll try to write more later...

Ah Kaybo  :( I am sorry to hear about your mom...My prayers go out to you and your family! <Sorry to get off the subject here!>  And dragonlady, that bites that no one told you about your stroke!  Are you still suffering from the effects of that?
