I had the middle fossa approach for a 1 cm tumor. I went to House in LA and my doctor team was Friedman and Schwartz. I found them to be amazing. They removed the tumor, saved my hearing, and facial nerve. My recovery in LA was comfortable as I was able to sleep and and rest as needed. I drove after 4 weeks, and started (light) exercising after 6 weeks. I still get tired when I do too much and seem to need more sleep than pre surgery days (I used to survive on 5 hours).
I would be happy to talk to anyone with questions.

Hello Ella,
I am having my AN removal surgery an the HEI on June. I am out of States. My tumor is about 11-12 mm size and they recommended the middle fossa approach. My Hearing is very good, almost not demaged.
I will be happy to hear a little more about you post-operative effects and about your recovery. Did you have a facial weakness after surgery? How was your balace rught after?
Thanks a lot
