Yesterday was my BAHA Gotcha Day with my Ponto Pro and things are going great. ;D I wasn't sure I was healed enough to get it, but my surgeon said things looked perfect. The audiologist checked my hearing and when she blocked my good ear, my hearing level with my BAHA was basically normal! She was very pleased and so am I. We went out to eat in a noisy restaurant last night and I could hear - even the waiter on my bad side! It's going to take some getting used to adjusting the volume, etc., but I'm surprised that most of the time I don't even feel that it's there. I go back in a month (or sooner if needed) to see if I want to add more programs and make any other adjustments.
Anyway, I'm very happy I took this step and wanted to share the good news! :D

May I ask how much a BAHA cost. If I have another brain surgery they said they could do at the same time. Thx

Thanks for all the congrats!

I think the BAHA itself is between $4,000 - $5,000. The surgery is the biggest cost, but if it were part of another surgery, I'm not sure what your total would be. I'd check with your surgeon's office.

Congratulations on your Baha! :)

Denise, That is good news to have good results with your new BAHA! I hope it continues to go well and good that you seem to have done well with the surgery after radiation that you have been thru! I am happy for you! Are you coming again to the symposium? I am this one again and then time will tell for the future.

Are you coming again to the symposium?
Hi, Cheryl. I just registered but am still a little unsure. We have a friend's son's wedding also that weekend, so I feel pulled both ways. Flights are kind of high at the moment! I would love to see you again.
