Has anyone used a chiropractor for balance and/or neck tightness? What were the results?

Yes I have, but found that the benefits were only temporary and I had to go 3 times a week. It was just got too expensive, although I loved getting adjusted!

Hello Brewers7,
I have not used a chiropractor for balance issues. But I did go to chiropractor about a year ago when I had a pinched nerve in my cervical area. And it helped. I think chiropractic's effectiveness to help your problem probably depends on what is causing the problem. I have mixed views on chiropractic. It can help some problems, but has the potential to make other problems worse. Sorry I can't give you a more direct answer, but I don't have medical training or knowledge about your particular situation. You can always give chiropractic a try to see if you think it is helpful, and stop going if it isn't.
For balance issues, major university based hospitals usually have specialists in vestibular assessment, and physical therapists who specialize in vestibular problems. I would highly recommend using their services if you can.
Good luck to you.

Brewers7 .....
I am not a doctor, but in my opinion your best bet for balance issues is a trained vestibular therapist. The chiropractor probably could help your neck tightness, but that is a whole separate issue from balance. You may have the tightness because you are tense when you are walking.
I had vestibular training for months following my AN removal, but that was mainly because it was my second brain surgery which resulted in my having no functioning vestibular nerves any more. I had a stiff neck for a very long time because I was afraid to move my head from side to side for fear I would lose my balance and fall down. I still am very careful but I have learned to relax my neck and head.
Let us know how you are doing.

Thanks all. I have been through vestibular/physical therapy. I went to the chiropractor today for the tightness in my neck and he indicated that he might also be able to help some with my balance issues. He is not the "cracking and popping" kind of chiropractor, so I thought I would give it a try. Keep you posted.

I was thinking about this post last night, I know that some people on the site have used cranio sacral therapy for the neck issues. They offered it in my chiropractic office as well.
