Let me preface this by mentioning that I had many rare complications (I don't want to frighten anyone.). I am excited to report that in the past week, I had two exciting baby steps:
1. I completed a 5k Saturday. I walked much of it because I can walk faster than I can run. But my goal was to finish in under an hour without falling and I was successful. My first 5K since surgery.
2. I wore a pair of heels to work today - first time.

Susan ~
Congratulations on achieving these small but highly significant 'victories' in your recovery. Thanks, too, for sharing them with us. Very encouraging. May you have continued 'small victories' (or, better yet, even some big victories). :)

Congratulations on two major milestones!!!
I remember the first wearing of heels in my post op recovery (very interesting) ;D
I've yet to run a 5K - never did that pre op either - but am making it a goal to run one next year after I turn 50.

Thanks all! I think I was more excited about the heels! Ha.

This very good news, Susan. All our big gains are made of much smaller gains.
I hope things continue to improve!

I still have some issues with heels, but I just make sure to bring a pair of flats to work just in case...congrats to you on both fronts!
