I am having a gold weight put in my eyelid on Wednesday. Any suggestions from those who have gone before me?
I hate the idea of having anything on my head cut into again but am looking SO forward to being able to blink my eye again.

It is a piece of cake...I have had several over the years and I can say this with complete confidence!! ANYTHING is better than AN surgery! ;) ;) ;)

Kinda like a trip to the dentist compared to AN surgery!
Do make sure you put ice on your eye on the way home, in case they don't give you an ice pack, ask for it. Keep icing at home, 20 min on, 20 min off.
Expect swelling/bruising/ maybe some pain, but really an easy procedure.
Good luck! :)

HAHA Doc!
I was definitely thinking of you when I wrote my post, but decided not to mention anything. We'll keep your story for later, OK!
I think Karen is a bit on the younger side, so hopefully she'll do well :)

I have had it done twice and the surgery itself was no big deal either time. I had a lot more swelling the second time. Just make sure you do what the doctor instructs.
As Moe said make sure to keep ice on it the first day.

Yeah, I'll keep the color glossies for another day!

Hi Karen, you should be post op by now, but wanted to say that I just had one put in a couple months ago too. I'm so glad I had it done after 2 years of the external lid weight. Life is so much easier and I can wear makeup on that eye which helps me look more symmetrical. I was swollen for a while, but the suture was removed a week post op. Like you, I wasn't fond of having to have any more surgeries on my head, but it went fine.
Blessings to you as you recover!
