A few days early, but I won't be spending much time online this weekend and I didn't want to miss a chance to wish my fellow Americans a Happy Independence Day. Please head outside and celebrate this holiday as the founding fathers intended - by blowing stuff up and grilling meat :D
Be safe and have a great weekend!

Heading to Emerald Isle on the NC coast with my fair share of stuff to blow up! Taking my grandscallywags and their Ma. Hopefully my headaches and anxiety issues won't make me want to blow them up. Or grill them. Ha haa!! Just kidding! Happy 4th everyone!!!

Hi Everyone,
Grilling out for the first time this year (burgers, chef dogs, and corn on the cob), watching the NASCAR race at Daytona Speedway, and tippin' back a few :o (me not Scarlett), that's what's happening at this very moment.
HAPPY 4th of July,
Rich & Scarlett

Have a great 4th everyone!
We celebrated July 3rd this year, since James has to work tomorrow - just the usual cooking on the grill, playing outside with the kids and the dogs and relaxing. Ahhhhh...
Tomorrow will probably involve lunch on the ship with James, followed by planting myself firmly in the sand at the beach for a few hours before fireworks tomorrow night.
Hope everyone has a great and safe day! Enjoy!

I hope we'll each find just a moment to put down the burger, beer or sparkler and remember the lives that were given during the American War of Independence over two hundred years ago and that, despite it's faults, and no one denies them, our wise, brave founders helped establish a nation that would become, to borrow former President Ronald Reagan's words: "the best hope for man on earth". I may be dismissed as naive or nostalgic but I still believe that statement to be true, even in these times of turmoil. God bless America. Have a great holiday!

As always, very well said Jim!

My son returned from Iraq last week and over the weekend my mind was on thoughts of him and those over there fighting , trying to make the world a little better ... don't know where he is , just that he landed on American soil ... not sure when he will be home but for now he is home enough for this mother
Watch some fireworks Saturday night in town and then more last night in Decatur Alabama ... we grill year round but didn't over weekend ...fried chicken instead and added trimmings ...

son back home ... letting him reconnect with his kids and wife before charging in ...
