Title: Kim's post op update from Nate

Kim's surgery took about nine hours and was a complete success.  The doctor told me after the operation that he was able to remove the entire tumor without damage to her facial nerve.  The nerve was responding to the lowest level of electrical stimulation in every nerve fiber. 
First night in ICU was tough, vomiting and such.  She was released from ICU after about 24 hours and with each passing day she is improving. 
Day 1 of recovery Kim became rather swollen and lost some of her facial control, as the swelling reduces her facial movement is increasing.  Likely to be a few weeks before she has a normal level of movement.
Currently, she is off all machines and IV's.  She is eating, walking (a little, it's exhausting), and she is able to perform most fuctions in limited intervels.
The goal now from the hospital point of view is developing an oral pain control routine that works and then they plan to release her.  We may be home as early as Monday.

She wanted me to ask how Sue and Tracy are doing...

The first three days don't count, so Kim is doing fine! Hope she can go home soon. Take care meanwhile.

Nate that is terrific news.  We hope Kim has a quick recovery.

Thanks, Nate, for the update on Kim's surgery outcome.

It seems as if she's doing well, which is wonderful news.  Tell her we're rooting for her and look forward to seeing her post again when she is up to it .  No rush...she needs her rest.

I'm so happy to hear the great news, she has been in my thoughts and prayers.  Hopefully you will be heading home soon and she is able to rest and recouperate.
