Title: eye make-up
Post by: Karen on May 12, 2010, 06:41:14 pm
another eye make-up question.  I have no feeling in my eye.  Does anyone still wear eye shadow and if so what kind, powder or cream.  my eyes look so plain but I am afraid of make-up getting in my eye.  Any help?  Karen

Karen,
I sound like a commercial for Lancome, but after having worked for them for quite a while, as a beauty adviser and make up artist, I can tell you that their Aquatique is a great eye shadow base, it makes what ever you choose, powder or cream stay on all day and not crease or "disappear".  The Aquatique also evens out the color of your eyelids, covers splotches and veins. Your age should be the deciding factor whether you use cream or powder shadows.  Under forty, either, over forty, powder....cream tends to make your eyelids look crepey.  Good luck...experiment and have fun!

Hi Karen:  I learned from Anne Marie Clinique's Touch Base is also a good base prior to using eye makeup.  I'm very careful about putting on the makeup & use a 5X mirror when I do.  I've found for work/daytime, just using a powder eye shadow above the eye crease really gives my eye depth, & lately that's all I'm using.
If I have a 'night out', I use the Touch Base, then apply the eye shadows on eyelid & area above the crease.
I haven't braved eyeliner yet but the ladies have suggested waterproof eyeliner as working the best.  So if it's Lancome or Clinique, give it a try
Always good thoughts,  Nancy
