Title: 2 years post CK update
Post by: goinbatty on April 23, 2010, 09:35:34 pm
Just dropping in to give an update.  MRI showed no change thankfully, 10 x 7 x 6 mm.  Audiogram showed the effected ear a little worse for wear especially with high frequencies but still considered mild loss.  But let's just say I can tell a difference because I find myself saying what, can you repeat that, etc much more frequently.  Tinnitus a little worse but tolerable.  What I used to call my side 2-step resolved....as long as my eyes are open.  It used to be that standing completely still, I tended to side step like that out of nowhere.  Never was what I consider dizzy.  Just would suddenly go off balance a bit with no warning.  I know from trial and error that when exposed to loud noise I tend to pay for it for days with decreased hearing and increased tinnitus.  Have definitely decided the dense earplugs they use for MRIs are my favorite.  I also like the custom molded earplugs when I'm going to have it in for a long time (love that NASCAR!!).
Looking forward to the SC ANA meeting tomorrow.  Hoping everyone can come.
I don't get on here as often as I should but if anyone has any questions for me, feel free to message me.
Take care,
Sandra

Sounds like you're doing great overall, Sandra. My "side step" also resolved (at least 90%) since getting CK  almost 2 years ago. Someone else on this forum described this as an "invisible hand" pushing them over, a good description. It used to happen to me several times per day; now it occurs maybe only 2 or 3 times per week and much more mildly when it does.

Best wishes,
TW

Glad to hear you're doing well.  I like that "invisible hand" explanation because that's about what it's like.  Let to few falls but thankfully that hasn't happened in a long time.  Live and learn I suppose.

Hi, Sandra ~

Thanks for checking in with your update and I'm pleased to learn that you're doing quite well, overall.  Your recovery seems fairly typical.  Congratulations on the positive (no growth)  MRI report.  Stable is a good thing!  May your next year bring even more healing.  :)
