Title: MS 150 bike ride
Post by: texsooner on April 12, 2010, 07:41:20 pm
Hi AN brothers and sisters. This coming weekend I'll be riding my road bike from Houston to Austin in support of those suffering with MS. I'm doing it because I can, because I feel very grateful for my health, and because I know several people that are dealing with the debilitating aspects of MS and want to do something to help.

I've been training hard over the last couple of months to be able to make the 170 mile ride that goes over some challenging terrain in the Hill Country of Texas. For anyone who'd like to support my ride, please click on the link below:

A couple of my AN friends have already supported me, as a few did last year....thanks very much guys.

Thanks,

Patrick

Patrick~
You will be in my prayers - I am praying specifically that you will have the endurance & stamina to support you the whole time and that you will have wonderful weather.  I know this is not quite the same as the monetary contribution you had hoped, but in my book, this is just as important!!

Made it 170 miles on 2 wheels. We dodged most of the rain around Texas over the weekend to make it all the way from Houston to Austin. Here are a few photos:

Me (#161) and my good buddy training partner Tracy after crossing the finish line in Austin about to go drink a cold one.

Feel good...hoping to keep in biking shape by doing a few centuries (100 mile rides) during the summer.

Patrick ~

Well done!  Thanks for the photos, too.

Although I get tired just thinking about what you do (ride a bike for over 100 miles at a time) you raised lots of money for a great cause.  You're obviously very fit and a sterling example that 'life after an acoustic neuroma' can be both vigorous and rewarding.

Although they've already been used, awesome and impressive are definitely the first two words that come to my mind  ;D

Congratulations - and enjoy the 100 mile training rides.
