Title: pround mama and an upset on too!!
Post by: tenai98 on March 08, 2010, 05:18:01 pm
Upset because last week my oldest son's new truck was stolen from his driveway during the night.  He is going thru a very stressful time right now and certainly didnt need this added stress...In the truck was the baby's carseat and clipping from his first hair cut. We figured the truck was long gone...when low and behold, my second youngest son was coming our of his driveway to go to work when he noticed his brother's truck coming around the corner...so he follows the truck while calling the police and finally corners the vehicle...the thief jumps out and runs( wearing oldest son's heavy winter coat)..Jay gave chase but lost him...Jay got a very good discription of the thief ( a young adult about the size of a 15 yr old) and the police knew who he was and got him...So that is my proud moment....BTW...all this took place in Cornwall, Ont.

Jo ~

Having a new vehicle stolen from your home has got to be aggravating, to say the least.  You're rightfully proud of your younger son for his actions in cornering the stolen truck and chasing the thief.   That the truck-thief was caught by the police is excellent news!  I just hope he doesn't receive a 'slap on the wrist' as many vehicle thieves do, based on the fact that they 'only' stole property and that, in most cases, the vehicle was insured against theft and that old standby for defense attorneys: 'no one was hurt' (just inconvenienced).

Still, whatever the final legal judgment on the case, the good news is that your oldest son has his new truck back (undamaged, I hope) and your younger son showed alacrity in his attempt to not only strop the thief but catch him, too.  Definitely a 'happy ending'.  :)

Hate to ask this Joann, but here I go!  Was the young fellow native?  I know you will understand why I asked seeing how close I live to the situation in Caledonia.

Anne Marie, our first thoughts were that he/they were native...but believe it or not, he was a 'white 40 something male'.
