I had gamma knife surgery 2 months and 8 days ago today. I had my first MRI this morning and this afternoon got the very happy phone call with the great news that the tumor has not changed in size and is showing signs of necrosis. I am delighted, thankful, elated, giddy, etc. I know I am still early on in the recovery process, but am so happy that everything is good so far. Also thankful that no side effects have kicked in yet, again, I know I'm early in the process.
As I am watching a good friend battle an aggressive cancer, I am reminded how lucky I am to have had a slow growing tumor with excellent odds of recovery.
For everyone who is in the thick of their AN journey, I wish for you a similar day of good news and happiness.

Beth, that's terrific news that you are seeing necrosis after only 2 months. Your tumor is evidently responding very quickly to the treatment, which probably bodes very well as to the eventual outcome.
Best wishes for continued improvement.
