Well its been 24 hrs and I havent noticed much difference with or without the baha but on several occasions there was a different tone/pitch coming thru with noise/conversation I picked up. Maybe its the way I'm wearing it...I'm still playing with it as the audiologist said to do....But the darn thing hurts to wear it. Maybe I'm focused on the discomfort it is causing versus what it is suppose to be doing. I still have my heart set on the baha as I'm sure the real thing will be much better..
BTW, my ENT keeps us in overnight.

I only got to try the demo in the audiologist's office. I think that's cool you got to take yours home to try. When I was testing it, I didn't notice much difference until my hand was over my good ear. Have you tried putting an earplug in your good ear to see if the demo is working like it should?

Thanx Lisa...that did the trick....when I put it on number 3 frequency, there was nothing....but then when i tried 1&2 and put an earplug in, voila, it was awesome.....thank you, thank you, thank you

Jo,
On the Intenso, the #3 position on the frequency setting is used for connecting accessories and also as an alternate "off" switch -- if you're on the phone and don't want to hear any external noise, for example, but you don't want to mess up your volume setting, you can turn the frequency to #3 and you won't hear anything through the BAHA while you're on the phone. When you get off the phone, just return the frequency to either one or two (you can hear the little beeps) and you don't need to re-adjust the volume. That's why, when you were testing with your earplug, you didn't hear anything at the #3 setting.
I hope things continue to improve with your BAHA demo.

I didn't get to take the demo home either; just tried it out in my neurotologist's office.
He put the headband on my head, told me to put my finger in my good ear, and then he talked to me. I could hear him loud and clear :o
After hearing nothing out of my "bad" ear for nine months at that point, I was totally blown away. I was amazed - and I don't amaze easily.

Thank you. That explains why on #3 I didnt hear anything....I was perplexed to say the least. But now I am loving it and wrote to the audiologist to book me in. I am happy to have the time ( one week) with it......I mean I didnt have to sign anything in order to keep it. Just a verbal promise to have it back by 2p on Monday. I'm 1.5 hours away from the office. Today I plan on returning to the mall having it NOT set on #3.lol

Hi all .... I'm a bit late to this thread, but just thought I'd add a BAHA - HA-HA to help you thru the day. In a previous thread about a month ago, I spoke of unintentionally trying to drown my BAHA tester .... not my sorrows .... in beer. But, of course, I'm not suggesting you try that method of testing your tester, or the final product.
BTW, I'm relying on Jan to remember the exact thread on which I told the story. As I recall, she almost fell off her chair laughing.
It might be a few days, as I assume many mid-westerners are enjoying the AN conference in Chicago.
Keep ;D -ing !

I didnt put mine in beer or any liquid...lol...Now testing the CROS...BAHA wins hands down..I'm not one for loudness...which is why I dont have an Ipod...dont like it...when I turn the Cros down to a comfortable level I might as well have the unti turned off...If I turn down the volunme on whatever is on which the CROS on, no one else can hear the radiok/tv....didnt have that problem when I had the BAHA demo...
the sound quality is great on the CROS tester and yes better then the BAHA tester but annoying

just a note. At the symposium, Dr. Miles Penzak talked about hearing devices and he said that the Cros is rarely chosen by patients anymore. These days the majority tend to choose either the BAHA or the TransEar.

i got a rod with mine which the bana fits on too, it gives you a better picture of what it will be like, you can either put it between your teeth, or place it on the conduction bone, the headband was not much good for me either.

I am definately going for the BAHA.. Have appt with ENT to discuss surgery....This doc keeps one in overnight and I was told its a 2-3 hour procedure....I tested the Cros demo a few times compared to all the time when I had the Baha
