I suggest that if this happens again that you make and appointment to see your doctor.

There are lots of things that can cause dizziness. I was having a bad time of it last spring, running into door frames when I got up in the morning and nearly falling off exercise machines at the gym. My doctor couldn't figure it out, but my sister told me to look up "ear crystals." She had them once with the same symptoms. My doctor agreed that could be it. There are treatments for it but mine went away on its own.
Allergies, thyroid and adrenal problems, sinus infections are among many other things that could cause dizziness. DHM is right - you should go see your doctor if it continues.

I didn't have surgery, but I started having dizzy spells about 6 months after GK. Had a balance test, and it turns out my hearing nerve is compromised 71%. In Jan. it was 5% (0-20%) is normal. My doctor said if anything is going to come up with radiation it is usually around 6 months. Not sure if that is true with surgery. Did you have your balance nerve cut when you had surgery? I've had the feeling like I was going to faint a few times.....scary. If you aren't doing better by now, you might ask your AN doc about a balance test. I think my balance should get better as time goes on. Just waiting for now.

Cindy .....
I had a sudden attack of vertigo (dizzyness), which was quite different than my usual imbalance/disorientation/wonkyheadedness, last May. It scared me because it was so severe and so different. Because we were away from home when it happened, I decided to wait until we came home to check with my PCP. Then, a week-end came into the time frame. About 10 days later, it quit as quickly as it began so I never did go to the doctor. My personal feeling is that is was a viral thing. It has not happened again.
Sure hope yours goes away equally quickly, but if not you should definitely check with your doctor.

Hi Cindy,
I have had a couple of dizzy spells even before being diagnosed. The Specialist that did my balance test said that as you lose your balance nerve you will feel it. Depending on how much you lose at at time. The more you lose at once, the more you will feel it. If it's gradual you don't feel it as much. I would mention it to the doctor in any case, it can't hurt to have it checked out. Hang in there.
