Title: lymph nodes and vessels
Post by: Becky on September 27, 2005, 09:44:58 am
The lymph system can be altered in AN surgery, as there are important lymph vessels, nodes and glands in the neck.  When this is damaged, one can have a leak in the lymphatic system - chylous leaks.  This can lead to abnormal mri readings where a substance of white matter, like a cyst, can build up from the lymph fluid that is leaking.  This can lead to low lymphocytes and a host of other problems.  So many things can go wrong in the treatment of AN's.
