Title: eye pressure/strain
Post by: kathleenanna on March 12, 2011, 03:53:40 pm
I was wondering if anyone has experienced eye pressure/strain after their surgery.  I am 6 months post op this week.  I can honestly say that I am just now starting to feel like myself.  My neurologist prescribed effixor (anti-depressant) to help speed up the process.....he also said that this may help the minor headaches that I get by the end of the work day......But, ever since the surgery, I am having much difficulty wearing my glasses and contact lenses.  I have worn invisible bifocals for years without any problems, but now, it seems that its just too many powers going on and I feel very dizzy.  Then when I put my contacts on, I feel pressure and strain in my eyes that cause headaches......And, I definately cant wear my normal prescription.  I need to put in a lower power in order not to have them bother me.  I have an appt at Wills Eye Hospital on Thurs to see a neuro opthalmologist......Any idea of what kind of exam she will do?  The only time the eyes don't hurt is when I have nothing on....no glasses or contacts.......but I can't see !   Thanks for any input.............KathleenAnna

Hi Kathleen:  Glad to see you have an eye appt. with a specialist.  Sounds like you're straining to focus - I have problems after staying on the computer for extended time, or straining to read at work.  I need to take breaks & close my eyes at work. I dont' know what your doc will do but I hope you get some answers.
Always good thoughts,  Nancy
