Title: EyeEco Goggles
Post by: nancyann on April 01, 2007, 11:17:11 am
Just want to let everyone know:  Since I had to have my gold weight removed & am now waiting for the platinum weight,
the past couple of nights when I lay down to sleep my eyelid wouldn't close.
Since the eye area isn't as sore I figured I'd try the EyeEco goggles I bought:
THEY WORKED GREAT !!!!!  very comfortable, the soft foam inside kept my eyelid closed !!!!!
There's a cloth strap that's adjustable rather than rubber;  I just now tried doing the warm water for moisture:
foam pieces are removable, soak it for 30 seconds in warm water, put the foam back in - I really couldn't feel that
I was getting moisture to my eyes while it was on, when I took them off after about 20 minutes,  my eyes feel
so good!!!!, refreshed !!!!!    Just an FYI for everyone.   If you feel like checking out the site:
just google  www.eyeeco.com
Oh, I got the baby blue ones !!!  they come in a bunch of different colors !!!    I bought the 'basic' at $39.00      Nancy

Nancyann,
I looked at the website, can you see out of these things?  I can't tell which ones you got.

Hi Denise:  You can't see a thing !!! - I love it because my bedroom never got real dark, with these on it's pitch black !!
I seem to fall asleep faster now.   If you go to, I think it's store, I got the Basic - it comes with 1 pair of goggles
& a spare set of foam pieces - these are removable, so you can soak them in warm water, or, just leave them in
dry.   I can't believe my eyelid stays closed with them on,  the foam piece rests right up against your eyelid.
And the cloth band is very comfortable.

Hi Nance,

I've ordered the goggles and glad they're on the way.  My swim goggles snapped and broke last night. The soft pink ones should arrive early this week!  I'm sure they will be more comfortable.  Can you help me find out where I can get that EMG done?  My nerve was in tact and the face was fine immediate post op however, after a couple of days began to get worse. I'm 10 months post op right now and I'm also checking into the nerve graft option.  Can you or anyone else assist me with a good surgeon for that. Also can anyone explain to me what 7/12 means? I feel like a fish out of water.  All I know is that I'm ready to proceed with alternative measures now.  If anyone can lead me to the right person to talk to, I would be very grateful  Take care Nancy and everyone else!  Carol  ::)

Hi Carol:   You want to get a neurologist who does the EMG's often.  I was referred to one, when I first saw her she told me it's done in 2 parts, I had to make 2 seperate appts.  I told my friend who's a neurologist also (his specialty is memory disorders) - luckily he referred me to HIS neurologist, who is the EMG expert - does the procedures
in 1 shot, not 2 appts.    I was lucky - so find out from the neurology dept. who is the EMG specialist.
As far as the nerve graft option,  I'm sticking with Dr. Teleschi, who will do it with a doctor he recommended also at Univ. of Miami, a Dr. Weed, if & when the time comes.
You have to find out from the ENT dept. in your area who are the pros for this surgery.
Glad to hear you're getting the goggles,  I love them.   Since my gold weight is out & my eye is wide open when I lay down,  these goggles keep the lid closed !!!
And the pitch blackness they give me when they're on is even giving me a better nights sleep,  I don't wake up 4-5 times a night anymore, only once or twice to
hit the bathroom.
Keep the faith girlfriend,  we're having a hell of a ride !!!!    Nancy
