well, was trying to figure out what to post for my 6000th post.... over 9000 topics.. almost 125,000... yes folks, you read that number right.. almost 125,000 posts that my poor eyes have had to read (well, almost all of them)... over 4000 members (granted, some are spam profiles, but not all that many).
Watching folks come and go (welcome to the wonderful world of the internet). Leapyrtwins/Jan has blown WAY by me in # of posts (but, that don't surprise me... she loves you all just as much as I do... well, most of you! ;) ) I've heard some really great success stories over the past 4+ years. I've seen the not-so-good as well. I've met too many AN'ers for me to count... not just in the USA but in the UK as well (still waiting to meet my Larry/Laz in the land of Oz!). I FINALLY got to meet Capt Deb and survived to tell the story! ;) (she's gonna hit me for that later!). I've harrassed.. and been harrassed. I've been made to blush too many times by the ANA and you all here. I've had to crack the whip a few times here and there... scoop up an occassionally-tipped halo while the "JKL" trio run amock! :-*
I work with absotootely, the maximum best in Moderating Team there can be (but I STILL hold the keys to the Mod jet! 8) )..... so, along the way.. in my 6000th post... I just want to say... thank you to you all for helping to make my life NOT boring! :)

GEE WILLAKERS! That is a LOT of posts!! Isn't it crazy how my two sisters are always getting in trouble - I'm glad that i am the calm one of the family! ::)

But as soon as you post again you won't have such a nice round number any more. You will just have to hurry on toward 7000.
I can't believe there are almost 125,000 posts already. It seems like just yesterday that I posted #100,000. That was fun.

I'm not a post-counter but 6000 definitely deserves acknowledgment. To me, it indicates your dedication to the the forums, which is obvious and undeniable. I know you're an inspiration to many, including me. I probably would have drifted away from the ANA site/forums some time ago but your encouragement and example was influential in persuading me to not only remain but to accept a moderator position, which I've never regretted. I used to spend a lot of time on the internet arguing politics and other issues. I don't do that anymore. The AN forums take the lions share of my internet time now - and I believe it's time well spent. Your leadership for the moderators coupled with your genuine empathy and compassion for ANers at any stage of the 'journey',- if you'll forgive the metaphor - is like a beacon of light in a world that can sometimes get a little dark. Many people thank you for that and are pleased to 'celebrate' your 6,000th post. You can count me as one of those people.

Ew aw Jan and Pearly Whites are only now 499 posts apart. Coming in on the outside track it is Pearly Whites… neck and neck … Who will be the record holder of November 2010- exactly one year from now?

Congratulations, Phyl, on a job very well done indeed. You have lifted my spirit more than once and given some great advice. No one give Puggle Huggles like you do!!
(We have a new little girly Pug coming our way in a week or two, as soon as her Momma lets her go!!)

Congratulations, girly.. I don't come around here near as often as I used to but your bright shiny face is one of a few that truly brighten up my day when I see it. This place just wouldn't be the same without your hard work and dedication (along with a few others)..
I'm sure many will say the same thing, but I remember talking to you and others when I first "logged on". You've been there to help through bad times and helping me to celebrate milestones. For that (among some other things), I will ever be thankful.

I'm in a little late on this but congrats...you moderators are kind of like Elvis to newbies like me!!! Awesome, larger than life, and so nice to have around.

Hey, Phyl,
When you get frustrated moderating, just remember how WONDERFUL this board is. It helps all of us along the way, but to me its overwhelmingly critical importance is to newbies, during those days when one is in shock. I'm putting a note in my membership renewal (...sitting in front of me here at my computer, unsent...ugh!) to Judy and the Board of Directors that I think a push should be made to get ANA brochures or flyer into the offices of doctors where new AN patients are likely to be. To me this is just he most critical aspect of ANA and this online board in particular.
So...THANK YOU... and Steve et al ... for being the hall monitors. I'm sure it's not always fun, but never forget its WORTH!!

That's great! Keep up the good work. You are an inspiration to us all. I have learned so much since the day I met you and other fellow "an'er's" in NH at Donna's meeting and then again at the Worcester brunch. The information that I received has helped me make many decisions along my ana journey thus far. This forum is invaluable to so many people. Let's keep on posting and supporting each other along the way.

Phyl you are definitely the "silly" glue that keeps us all together...that piece of the puzzle that completes the whole picture for us... and although I've only needed to call you once or so I know you will always be available if I need to talk... and you so richly deserve the Volunteer Achievement Award you received at the last ANA symposium!! :-*
Thanks also to all the other great people on this site who share of themselves with their time by posting replies as those are invaluable to us all as well!!! ;)
Looking forward to our Spring Brunch... My next MRI is April so I hope to have conntinued good news to share... (new grandchild as well coming)....

Don't be concerned with comparing your post-count to other folks. No matter what you may accomplish, even reaching a substantial post-count here, there is usually someone who will be ahead of you in some way. So what? Achieving 1,000 posts would demonstrate a real dedication to the ANA forums on your part - and I would certainly celebrate it with you, along with many others, including Jan and Phyl, I'm sure. :)

I'm just so happy that all of us contribute - and I hope (speaking for myself here - not you guys) that someone takes something away from at least a few of my posts.
I think it's very important for us "oldies" to keep posting so that the newbies can share in our experiences - and also be motivated to become "oldies" themselves.
Giving back is a wonderful thing; we all need to keep the cycle going.

Oh, I know its not a race and this thread took a direction I wasn't expecting.... initial thought was that you all would be busting me for "posting" too much as I have nothing better to do with my time except for chasing users around here... or that I need a life. No race... and Jan is correct... we post in the hopes that others can take something away from it, nothing more.
Post on folks. Your experiences and knowledge are so very helpful to others that may just be starting this "journey" and what we can share may be invaluable to others.

I get that it's not a race.. I didn't mean to imply that it was. I'm glad that there are those people who stick around and contribute for those that are newly diagnosed and bewildered. I was there once. Now, I choose to come back as I can and offer whatever advice I can to help. I'm glad there are Jim, Jan, Phyl and others that do the same.. It helps to make the knowledge continue on.
