Title: Forum "time"
Post by: cindyj on August 11, 2009, 01:15:28 pm
Ok, is it just me, or has the time changed on the forum to West Coast time?  Until a couple of weeks ago, responses used to show up on my system with EST...at least I thought they did.  Do I need to change something from my end or ?  Anyone know what I'm talking about ???

keen eye, m'dear!  :-*  I noticed it too and a slight "hiccup" on my log on as well. I believe the new site server folks are based out west, hench, the PST vs. the EST. i know, I know... we've been FAR too spoiled on the "good" coast.. guess we have to let the "bad  coast" have their share as well....  :)

You can change the posting time stamp to match your local time.

Go to your profile page pull up 'Look and layout Preferences'

At the top, there is a box labeled 'Time Offset'

Just add or subtract the number of hours you need to equate your local time with the time you see on current posts.  I added '3'.

All posts will bear a time stamp that shows your local time.

This works for me.

I noticed the time difference after the site server changed so I did some exploring and found the time offset place.  However, it took a couple of times changing it and then it did not seem to be reflected at the top of the page so I quit looking at it.  Now I see it is correct so all is well!   ;D  Oh, the wonders of modern technology!!

I thought it was about time they got it right. :)

When they first switched, it would show the times an extra 3 hours earlier for me, since I was already set at -3. I had to remove that.
