i use viscotears gel (single does) for dry eye i think they are called refresh in america? the company allergan make them, when i went to pick them up last night i was given viscotears liquiflim tears which come in a liquid form, the girl at the counter said they were the same as the gels but this is liquid, my other ones contained carbomer, but these dont does anyone know am in the uk./

Hi Anne: Are the viscotears liquifilm tears the same consistency as the viscotears gel ? In America, the liquid gel Refresh has a much thinner consistency than the Refresh lubricant. I've used both & can only use the lubricant because of my level of paralysis.
Hope this helps, always good thoughts, Nancy

hi nancy the ones i got last night where like drops (liquid) where as i usually get the gel they are a different consistency , i have no feeling in the eye so i think the gel would be kinder to the eye. I didnt know there were two different type should i ask the chemist?

Sounds to me like you need the thickest lubricant at this point in your AN journey, especially since you don't have feeling in the eye - remember, the goal is to prevent your cornea from getting dry, which could lead to corneal ulcers, & ultimately, blindness.
Eventually you may be able to use the drops during the day & lubricant at night.
Definitely talk with your chemist about this.
Always good thoughts, Nancy

hi nancy i called the chemist today, he said my box should say viscotears on them (which it doesnt) he has orderd a box for me, and he dosent know why i was giving the liqid form.

Hi Anne: sounds like the girl at the counter needs to be educated on the different types of eye drops/lubricants before she tells you they're the same.
Or they were out of the lubricant & she gave you what she had.
Hope you get the lubricant soon !
Always good thoughts, Nancy
