Well its' that time again, MRI on Jan 3rd. Hoping the little hitchhiker's on the lower spine arnt' acting up, and they didnt' invite some friends over to hang out. I have only been on Bio 30 for a month, but have been taking turmeric for the past year, I had seen an article on its' possible tumor suppression, guess will see. Thanks everyone.

Hi Mark,
I don't know your whole story; I do remember reading your post over on the deployed troop thread. I hope your MRI shows no problems. I never have even been on the NF2 threads because I just don't know much about them. I just want to let you know that we're here for you and I hope and pray that all is well with you. Keep us posted.

Thanks Keri ! That helps' me out a lot. :D

Mark,
Good luck with your MRI! I would think that Bio 30 and turmeric take more than a month to work, so don't be upset if there is no change. That in itself will be positive news.

Well, took the 4 hour MRI, complete spine and brain, I think its' comparable to water boarding. Should hear the results tomorrow, after my LP shunt surgery, fingers' crossed.

Mark,
How are you doing?
Keep us posted as you're able.
Praying for you too!

Good luck Mark.........please keep us posted.........I know where you are coming from.
You don't need to answer this if you don't want - how many tumors do you have on your spine and have they ever been a problem?
Keep the faith

Hey everyone! Thanks' so much for the posts', you guys put put a smile on my face, (A little crooked smile Ha Ha) My son spoke to the Doc about my MRI while I was in Post-OP from the shunt placement, He told him that nothing in the image raised any important concerns, but was waiting for the reading by the radiologist. Which I will take as good news, for now. Returned home yesterday, I thought the LP shunt was a walk in the park, not really, compared to other surgeries I have had, It kinda is, Have the the low CSF headaches, and light head if I walk around for a long period, which I've been told should subside in a week or two. The incision on the stomach however, OUCH, glad to be home, finally had a good night sleep.
Raven, I have three spinal tumors, L1, L2, and L3. They have stayed quite small, 2mm- 4mm, waiting to see if and how much they have grown, since my last spine MRI 2yrs ago. My brain is clear, thank God. Haven't had any symptoms from them as of yet, and hope I never do.
Thanks again everyone!

Mark,
Great news on your MRI!!!.......Reason I was asking about you spine, is I have 5 small tumors on my spine that have never been a problem. Just wondering if you had a plan if they became a problem. My Dr. did not seem at all concerned about them and said they may never be a problem. Probably be a walk in the park compared to brain surgery.
Take care Mark,
John

Hey Raven, sorry about your spinal "Hitch Hikers" That's what my Docs' have said also, Like I said, still waiting to talk to my Doc about them. I have a boat load of MRIs' but the this last one I took at a new self proclaimed state of the art imaging center, "Barrows Brain and Spine Imaging" was a trip. The skin on my hands was actually "Jumping" at certain times, when I asked my friend about it, "ENT at Barrows" he said the magnet is one of the most powerful in the Country, and the images are very detailed. But I'm taking it as good news none the less, If one of those tumors needed attention, I'm sure they would have delt with it then and postponed my minor LP shunt surgery, which is pretty much the same area where mine are located. I had one surgeon tell me that radiosurgery would be an option if they became a problem, I never asked what the symptoms would be, dont want my mind creating them.

Well surprising MRI results, good news' is there are no new tumors, better news', the ones I do have, haven't' grown, great news', one of tumors that was measured at about 2mm is gone from my L1!! I'm chalking that one up to prayers, and everyone who has thought good thoughts for me!
Thank You All!

Mark,
Great news about the MRI!
I'm still trying to get over the part about it being 4 hours long! AHHHH! I enjoy my 45 nap in the tube, but 4 hours! I can't sit still for that long! :o

Hey Lori ! Ya 4 hrs pushed me to the brink, ha ha, no music in the tube either, I told the tech that these tubes could compete with church, with the amount of prayer that it hears. Glad its' over for the year.

Mark, Good news with the MRI is big deal when one has NF2. I hope good news continues for you in the future! I have had no spinal tumors and just the 2 ANs and 1 facial neuroma. That has been quite enough. The spinal MRI is no fun and think will not be required to have one this spring again. I wish the best for you! Cheryl R
