Title: retrolabyrinthine approach
Post by: Juan_Antonio on February 21, 2014, 09:57:18 am
I read nothing here about this approach that according to some literature seems to be an excellent option if the neurosurgeon is skilled.

It seems to have the advantages of the retrosigmoid approach but the neurosurgeon can switch to translabyrinthine on the go if he decides that hearing preservation is not possible and keeping this approach compromises the entire resection of the tumor.

Anyone?

Have heard this surgical approach mentioned on the Forum a couple of times, but don't think it's widely done.
