Title: Pitutary Ademona & Acoustic Neuroma
Post by: WhatnotGems on July 05, 2016, 07:14:45 pm
I was diagnosed with a Pitutary Ademona in 2005, I have had biannual and annual MRI's. My most recent was last Tuesday at the VA, My first MRI at the VA. Both my VA Internist and Endocrinologist called the the next morning to inform me I now have an Acoustic Neuroma also. I have an appointment with the VA specialist in Bay Pines, FL on August 12.

I noticed hearing loss in one ear 5 years ago, saw various doctors, Internist ENT Allergist and had 4 MRI's at a different facility, lately my left ear feels full and slight numbness in area around the ear.

I have a lot to think about and consider.

Anyone else have both tumors?

I was diagnosed in the fall of 2014 with the AN.   My husband was diagnosed with a pituatary
adenoma in 2003 and had surgery.   It has really caused some wonder as to why we both
have had brain tumors. Probably just coincidence.  I'm sorry you have had to deal with
both yourself.  Best wishes as you consider your options.

I found out today the AN is 11 x 7 mm smaller than my Pituitary Adenoma 16 x 6 x 7 mm, I have lost more of the ability to understand conversations. :(

Whatnot,
Very sorry for your troubles.  I wonder if there is a connection.  So much about these tumors they still do not know.  Best of luck and keep us posted,
Rich
