Neurosurgeon prescribed 400 mg. of trental (generic name pentoxyfylline) three times per day. Looking on the internet shows this drug has been used quite successfully in combatting radiation-induced side effects in cancer patients. Especially for treating radiation-induced fibrosis after therapy for breast cancer.
I have lots of disequilibrium/balance problems, some increased hearing loss, and high blood pressure since CK. The doctor says he hopes trental may help with any/all of these.
Anyone else take this stuff before? Internet makes it sound like a safe, reasonable course of action.
