Good morning! It's that time of year again for my annual MRI....I hate these things!! The MRI tube doesn't bother me, it's just the annual reminder that I have a "resident" in my head that doesn't pay rent!! :)
I'll get a copy of the MRI on CD-ROM...I'll throw it on my computer to compare it to last years when I get home. Official interpretation with the doc isn't until the end of the month. But...I figured out how to use the ruler on the MRI program way back, so I'll do my read later.

Gary ---
Hope you get a good report. I am sure the waiting for the report is the hardest --- the word from the Dr. Keep us posted. That is what this forum is all about --- hearing how friends start out and how they are after their procedure.
I am going thru "FSR" treatments now --- just completed 6 -- have 24 more to go. I am thinking positive about my results.
Good Luck --

I'm sure the MRI won't have any bad news - but your anxiety is very understandable. Thoughts and prayers go out to you for a good MRI report.

Thanks all... I got half of the MRI done today. The Navy got a new machine at Portsmouth and it broke down after they finished the first half of my MRI...didn't get the "with contrast" done...going back tomorrow to finish it.
Thanks for being there!

hope you get good (clean) results.
BTW, did Lori ever buy you that cup of coffee ??? ;D

No, haven't gotten that cup of coffee yet!
I was just down that way today at the zoo in Norfolk! If I had known you were right across the river, I could have headed your way!
Portsmouth does seem to have problems with it's MRI machines though - I was supposed to have one there about 7 years ago for a shoulder problem I was having - waited in the waiting room for over an hour only to find out the machine had broken and I had to reschedule. They rescheduled me for 11:45pm on Easter! Good grief, I wasn't driving through downtown Portsmouth at that hour!
Anyway, hope everything is working for Part 2 of your visit and I hope everything looks perfect!

Hey all...thanks for the well wishes. Went back yesterday and completed the MRI. I did my own MRI read...and it looks the same to me...but the Doc has the final say so. Because it was done in two parts I had two files to review (with and without contrast), the image is so clear, I really don't think they needed the contrast! This is the contrast pic though... Here are my 2009 and 2010 pics.
BTW...I do see some darkness on the new image...maybe some dying here?

Hi Gary,
As you said the Doc has the final say, but it does look pretty much the same. It doesn't show a lot of contrast, so I take it this is good news. This thing looks really dead. I hope your report will confirm this.

Gary,
I totally see the blackness you are talking about, almost like its separating from your brain. I think this is good, but I'm no Dr. but this looks like some possible tissue death.
Take care and cheers to another great MRI.

Hi Gary,
Your films looks great, and hope the doctor agrees! I am with you, I hate MRI"s, tube of gloom, tunnel of terror, but meds. help me!
Blessings to you and great results!

....just following up. Went to my Dr. appt today..and I'm happy (blessed) to say, that things are still the same.
My MRI and hearing tests are unchanged. The doc isn't putting me on the "2 year plan" as UVA requested annual MRI's so I could be part of their study.
BTW...Boiling hot here today in Virginia...near 100 again!!!

In a sincere effort to embrace brevity, I'll simply offer you my congratulations on your MRI results.

Gary,
That's great news! I bet the anxiety of waiting and not knowing is the worse part. The fact that you can now have an MRI every two years is a good sign. I am very happy for you.

Hi Gary,
Haven't been around much lately, so just getting back to checking all the threads on the forum :o
I was SO HAPPY to hear that your little brain booger is the same, maybe even necrotic - awesome!
So enduring that tunnel of terror - twice in two days - amazing!
Best wishes and continued wellness from a fellow Virginian!
Sincerely,
Sue
