From the top of my eyebrow, the leftside of my nose, down along my jaw and part of my neck feels like Mike Tyson has been using my face as a punching bag. Not to mention I have a headache. Am I the only one who feels this way? Is it because my facial nerve is slowly being strangled by the tumour? Every other day this week I have been battling this. My ear is also bothering me, its so itchy inside. The bone behind my ear is so sore to touch. The entire area feels like it is swollen and I cannot lay on it. I really feel like I've been beaten up!! I see my GP on Thurs and the specialist on the 24th.

I feel very badly for you, Anne Marie. That must be something very grueling to deal with. I do have face pain, but it comes from the stress of bunched up muscles that are confused by synkinesis. And the pain is nothing compared to yours.
My prayers are with you.

Anne Marie-
I am just so sorry that you are going through this. I hope that your doctors come up with a plan this week to get rid of the pain. What you are describing makes my random head pains pale in comparison. Try to rest, okay? And, have Louie make you something tasty to eat...

sorry to hear you are having such bad pain :'(
Thursday seems like a long time to wait when you are feeling this way :( Is there any way the doctor could move your appointment up? Or maybe prescribe something that would help alleviate the pain before your appointment? Perhaps you should contact him. I know it's a weekend, but surely he has an answering service that could reach him.
Kisses to you :-*

I agree with Jan that it sounds like a long time to suffer! Maybe if you call, he can at least suggest something you can do to be comfortable until your appointment. I know when the inside of my ears itch, it's allergy related. That wouldn't explain the pain, but maybe the itchiness.
And I know you feel like Mike Tyson has beaten you up, but if he actually had, you'd be missing your ear altogether, so it probably wouldn't hurt or itch! :D Sorry, couldn't resist and I was hoping to get you to laugh!

I don't know if this made Anne Marie laugh, but it surely made me chuckle!

I had a pretty good day today. Thanks everyone for your concern. Tomorrow is another day and I'm hoping for two in a row. It will be a record considering how the last few weeks have been.

What a day today it is!! I'm back in the neurontin since Friday and it is helping. I still have the headaches and all of my other complaints but its not as frequent or intense, so I'm coping better. Today is the 2nd year anniversary of my 1st surgery and late this afternoon I got a phone call from the insurance company and.... it looks like its a go for my long term disability. I'm faxing over the written MRI and CT reports. I'm doing the "Happy Dance" Steve. I just hope I don't loose my balance and break my neck! ;D
I will hear more tomorrow afternoon. I can feel the stress being lifted off of my shoulders. My benefits will remain in tacked. Thank God! Neurontin, Effexor, Toradol, Ativan and all of Louie's meds are a fortune. My boys all have dental appointments this month and we know how expensive that is.
I'll keep everyone posted,

Anne Marie-
This is definitely some good news! I will join you in the bobbly happy dance. I hope this is just the beginning of a lot more good news - you deserve it.

Anne Marie:
I've followed this thread but neglected to post earlier. I'm happy to do so now as it means I can offer you my congratulations on (a) being approved for disability and, (b) getting at least some relief from your headaches, etc. Go ahead and do the Happy Dance but just be sure to do it where you have something to grab onto or at least do it on something soft, like your bed. :D
I wish you much more good news and of course, even better days ahead. :)

Well its official I am now on long term disability. Yahoo!!! I was told to expect a whopper of a payment because I haven't had any $$$$$$$$ since July. The Happy Dance continues. Now that's a huge weight lifted from my shoulders. Yahoo again!!!!

You know I'm thinking about you all the time, and how hard it must be to get through some days. And you come through with a sense of humor and are always there for others. You rock, Anne Marie.
I hope you have continuous improvement,

Great news, Anne Marie. You certainly deserve it. Can that insurance company also fix headaches? ;)
May the good news keep on coming...

AnnMarie,
Tickled you won your battle for long term disability! I know of many here that have waged the war and had it stretch out over a LONG period of time. Congrats to you! Drinks are now on you! :)

Glad you are doing better and won your disability battle... I was told that since I had been
part time and not full time I didn't qualify... part time money spends as well as full time ...
just not as much of it ...

Soundy,
That sucks big time. Can you tell I'm a Bart Simpson fan? Oh okay back to the topic here. Isn't that discrimination? Gosh, you have had one hell of a battle yourself. It just doesn't seem fair. Have you gotten any legal advice? I'm so sorry for you.
Keep fighting, do not leave any stone unturned. Remember you are a fighter. You battle this AN monster and headaches you can battle the discrimination.

It does suck big time that a medical condition ends up a war zone ...
we need bigger sticks...lumpy knobby ones ...maybe with thorns

Maybe Phyl could enlighten us a bit since she is involved with her committees. My mind has gone blank....help me out here. Talk about feeling beaten up!!
