Title: Nose Bleeding on the same side of surgery
Post by: duongvan on March 18, 2006, 06:11:45 pm
Hi all,

I had a surgery in January of this year 1/6/06 with 3.5 cm AN. Beside deaf on the right ear and facial paralysis, I have bleeding problem. The nose bleeding occurred 3 weeks after the surgery.I do no know if the bleeding is due to the dryness of your nose, weather, or something else. Lately the bleeding are more frequent. when bleeding occurred, I pinched the nose and tilted my head forward for couple minutes it would stop and then it happen again the next day. It's weir and bothersome. i am going back to work Monday 3/20/06 and I don't want it happen. I never have bleeding before the surgery Please help. Thanks

I really think you need to give your doctor a call. Is the bleeding only coming from the AN side? Do you have headaches?

please give your doc a call just to be on the safe side.

take care and keep us posted

I agree with matti...I've not read anything about nose bleeds.  I'd def. call the doctor and see what they say.

Hi- I did have bleeding from the An side, but I had it before as well.  I believe mine is from the dryness, as I had sinus problems before my dianosis.  I would still contact your Dr.  Better safe than sorry.luv2teach

I  had my surgery 1/10/06 and also  have a dry bleeding on the AN side.  I also have more mucous than ever before.

Duongvan,
I had some bleeding from both sides right after surgery, probably from the dry O2 during surgery and the first 24 hours post-op.  Not active nose bleeds, but blood on the tissue when blowing my nose.  The non-AN side stoped after about 4 days, but the AN side has continued.  For the first two weeks I had to get in the shower twice a day to clear out the AN side, which would clog up with crusty dried blood and mucus (sorry for the gross description).  It's slowly improving.  I'm six weeks post-op.
Do you have other trigeminal involvment post-op? My AN side has steadily improved (less blood on the tissue) as other trigeminal port-op affects have improved.
Regards,
 Rob

I had surgery on 12/9/05 and still have bleeding-the sad part is I can not feel it due to the sensation not being there- the doc said it was dryness and to use ocean water regularly and also I use a & d ointment when it became raw- it is almost gone but it is bothersome especially when you got other things happening with your body!!! :)
