My scalp is itchy on top of my head on the paralysed side. Does anyone have experience with that? Do you think it has something to do with nerve regeneration? 8.5 weeks post op.

My neurosurgeon told me that regeneration would begin at the bottom of my face and work up (chin, mouth, cheek, eye, forehead). For what it's worth . . .

Im8 months post op and I have very itchy scalp and side of head as well as top of head. I read some early posts that said maybe a regeneration of nerves. I keep changing shampoos to no avail. Even my right side of forehead which is STILL numb is itchy. The journey for regeneration of nerves and muscles is taking Wayyyy to long. Thoughts? Thanks. Joan

Hi all I also have a tugging sensation on right side of face. Why? Does this mean my facial nerves are waking up. I did notice when I was tweezing eyebrows the right side is starting to sting a bit it had been numb these past 8 months. I hope this means I'm recovering.

I’ve been told itchiness is a sign. I am only four months post-surgery. Is it too soon to see something improving? My bottom lip feels heavy, and I can wrinkle my chin.
It seems that 8 months is more realistic.
What is a realistic expectation? I would love to hear some recovery stories. Surely, there must be a few.

Yes recovery stories please. Oh, my scalp and side of face still itchy.
