Post by: nespole on March 11, 2014, 02:21:29 pm
Has anyone experienced tumor regrowth after 5 + yrs of necrosis and shrinkage?  If so, what were your options?

Did you have regrowth after five years?

Generally radiation followed by regrowth = surgery.

I don't believe that's written in stone though.

Yes and it grew quite rapidly in less than a year.  However, after consulting with two doctors, more radiation appears to be the preferred treatment.  I was wondering if any one had experienced Gamma Knife twice and if there are any side effects to the second radiation.

Gamma Knife and Cyberknife can be done twice. Fractionated Radiation can't be repeated.

There is not much on repeating gamma knife
Here is a paper on it.
