Boy, lots of new topics since I last looked here 3 weeks ago before vacation!!! Many new folks, and lots of stories I need to get through!
I'm headed for my pre-op in an hour, and will be heading to the hospital early 7/5/06. One more week....these last 4 months have flown retrospectively. Thanks to everyone that has given me support!!! I would have gone whacko (well, moreso than I already am) without you all. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!
Will keep you updated in the next week, and hopefully I can get the care website for myself up and running. Will let you all know!!!!!
Huggles!!!!

Gennysmom,
Best of luck with your treatment. The last week will go quickly with so much to think about, but try not to worry too much.

Thanks guys! Pre-op went well, and they say I'm healthy and ready to do this!!!! My surgery anniversary will be the same as Matti's, and she says that the hospital is nice and quiet and the nurses are attentive on this day after a holiday. I hope so!!! They only have one other surgery scheduled on that day so far!!!
BTW, for you soccer fans, vacation in Germany was wild!!!! I had a blast getting mixed in with the world cup fans over there!!!

Hi Kathleen, Surgery day is rapidly coming. I will be glad for you when its past and you can get back to the business of a normal life. Great that you took your vacation. I know that had to help relieve a bit of the stress.
As always, my thoughts and prayers will be with you. Sherry

OK all, I decided that since I really do have a lot of non-AN friends (I know, don't faint!) that to make it easy on them, I would do one of the care pages that Suzanne suggested a while ago. It's under Carepages.com, and my page is called "Gennysmom" (of course). I'll have my boyfriend add updates until I can, even if he's kicking and screaming (he will). Of course, the alternative is that everyone call him at all hours, which could be fun too (he he he). Just about ready for this!!!!

Welcome back! We missed you! Hope things go swimmingly well!!
Hey remind him of the 3 hour difference between the best coast (east coast) and your coast :o) That will motivate him!

I wouldn't dare tell my daughter about your vacationing in Germany. She wants to go there sooo bad! She's recently completed her 5th year in German and will be taking German as a minor in college. Glad you had a good time! Hope your surgery goes well and you have a speedy recovery!

Kathleen,
Won't be checking the forum over the next couple of days, so I wanted to wish you well again! Good luck! :)
-
Thanks Suzanne!!! Hope you have a great fourth!!!! I'm getting really nervous and relying on Ativan to keep me mellow. Not so much the surgery, just what comes after it.
-
I, too, am wishing you all the best as you go into surgery. Just remember this mantra "This too, shall pass." Hoping all will go according to plan and am looking forward to your posts on recovery and, finally...HEALING!! ;D

Hey there are lots of great places to eat! A place called Captain Quarters is on the river. You can eat outside, have a drink and listen to some live music. It is fun watching boats pull up to the dock and hang out. I am a people watching so I really have fun. It is located off River Road. Louisville really is a great place. People will treat you well. Let me know what types of things he likes and I can tell you more. I am excited to hear from you, take care and i will talk to you soon!
