When I had the MRI right before Gamma Knife last week, it sounded completely different from any other MRI I've ever had. Instead of the knock knock, buzz saw sounds I usually hear, this one just gave off a gentle chiming sound. It was kind of a pretty noise, especially compared to the usual.
I was wondering if it was a different kind of MRI (since I was heading into the Gamma Knife a few minutes later), or if that was just a newer machine.
I forgot to ask the docs.
Just curious...anybody know?

Interesting question. I was already whacked out on the pill that they gave me, so I barely remember the MRI before the GK. A pretty sound would be a welcome change from the usual MRI noise. That surprised me when I had my first one, as I didn't realize they would make so much noise. I felt like I was inside a car alarm!
