This Thursday, I am having an MRI. I am not anxious about being confined in the tube, but my problem is they can never find a vein! After many attempts at both arms, I become very anxious, and by the time the dye is inserted, it makes my heart beat extremely fast, and scares me to death! I have some xanax that I use when I fly, which is about twice a year. So I thought maybe if I take one before my MRI, it might relax me. Has anyone out there tried a xanax or something like it before their MRI? I had my last MRI three years ago. Thanks for your input. Sarah

My doctor prescribed a valium for me before mine because of claustrophobia. Also, weren't we all on morphine when they took our post-op MRI's?

You are joking here, aren't you Welchy? - smile -
