Title: Vestibular rehab therapy opinions...
Post by: buzneg on December 31, 2018, 11:40:52 am
Does it help a lot or just minimally?  How many visits over how many weeks does it take to make a difference?

Anybody have issues with insurance rejecting the claim for it because they filed it under something other than "unsteady on feet" - ??

Vestibular therapy was the best thing that helped me after surgery.
Started right away in the hospital, continued in a rehab facility, and
at home.  When I could drive, I went twice a week.  About five months
total for me.  My recovery was not as easy as others but the therapy
definitely helped.

I also found it immensely valuable. Went 2x/week for 2 months - although the PT mentioned it usually takes longer (everyone is different!). The most important is to ensure your PT specializes in vestibular schwannomas, and can treat all aspects including vision, balance and how to resocialize / go back to work with a brain that is healing + hearing changes.
